Flatulence Cures - Recipes

Seeds of cumin: Grind the roasted cumin seeds to yield 1 tsp of powder. Dust with a tsp. of honey and take it after meals daily.

Seeds of coriander: Place two ground seeds of coriander in a glass of boiling water. Filter and divide it into three equal doses. Take it for a few days.

Sahjan: The flowers or pods of sahjan when cooked are useful in relieving the gas accumulated in the stomach.

Asafoetida: Dissolve the asafoetida in hot water and apply to the stomach around the navel. One gram of roasted asafoetida may also be eaten with anything you like. Alternatively, boil 2 grams of asafoetida in ½ liter of water. When the water is reduced to one quarter, remove the tonic from the heat. Drink when the mixture has cooled a bit.

Fenugreek: The leaves of fenugreek when cooked are beneficial in reducing flatulence. Grind the seeds of fenugreek, and take 1 tsp. daily on an empty stomach in the morning with fresh water. It provides relief from flatulence and a feeling of heaviness in the stomach. It will also sharpen your appetite and give you a sense of lightness in the body.

Mint leaves: 25 ml. mint juice mixed with 31 gms of honey in a glass of water in the morning is especially beneficial for sufferers of flatulence.

Dill: Eat fresh dill boiled. It helps to reduce gas and the abdoninal pain caused by flatulence.

Homemade tea: Before breakfast take a cup of tea made from eual amount of star anise, nutmeg, fennel, bitter orange peel, and angelica root. Add to boiling water.
